Learn about a different outlaw from the Old West each week - from well known, like Jesse James and Black Bart, to lesser known but no less astonishing figures like Hoodoo Brown and Elizabeth "Hoodoo" Brown.

This is an album I played drums on last year and came out this week. It's about national historic landmarks and I played a soup bowl on one song. This is my third piece with them, good friends, good musica.
The second Listening Room of the year, and the fourth in the series, went off without a hitch--good music, good turnout, good coffee. Additions to our set include framed posters highlighting the talents of various graphic designers, and a photo album displaying programs and photographs from the past three installments.
Thank You,
to the performers

Our sincere thanks goes out to all of those who made it to the show last night--performers and listeners alike. Although the snow made travel difficult, it was a nice touch and added to the overall wintery mix.
We hope everyone made it home safe and sound.
For those who couldn't make it, we were able to make a few audio recordings of the show. Along with photographs, a song from each set will be posted on the Richmond Scene in the next couple weeks. Unfortunately, there aren't any leftover suga… Continue

November has been fairly slow, which has been a nice break.
The "Live at Ipanema" series is going strong and in March we'll see our 1 year anniversary! Our next event is with The Diamond Center on Dec 6th.

I first noticed Louisiana Territory shortly after their inception two years ago. Their steady rise in popularity and solidarity has led to them to a very crucial place, the release of their first full-length record: Traces of Gold. Prior to the release of The Fire Next Time, Jonathan Vassar was simply a student of the folk genre. His reexamination of clichés that riddled his chosen medium allowed him to better understand how to improve his craft. With this new EP, Vassar is playing by his own set of rules and the resulting songs are epic in tone.
